Balanced Behavior Policies

• No unneutered males or unspayed/in-heat females over 8 months are permitted in daycare.
• Intact dogs over 8 months may board at our individual care rate of $95/night.

• Negative fecal test within the past year (required at the meet & greet).
• Proof of up-to-date rabies, bordetella, and distemper vaccinations (kept on file and updated as needed).
• Current flea & tick prevention.
• Notify us of any health issues, diagnoses, or concerns prior to visits.

• Dogs must be at least 3–4 months old, fully vaccinated, and no older than 12 years.

• All dogs must be comfortable resting in a crate or confined space.

At Balanced Behavior, safety and well-being come first. Because behavior can change over time, we monitor each dog carefully:

• If a dog displays behaviors that are not a good fit for group play, we may remove them from playgroups to keep everyone safe and comfortable.
• Dogs that engage in unsafe behaviors (such as starting fights or causing harm to staff) may not be able to continue in social playgroups.
• Dogs showing signs of excessive stress (persistent barking, panting, or crying) may be better suited to alternative care options, which we are happy to discuss with you.
• All dogs are socialized at our staff’s discretion.

Our goal is always to support each dog’s success while keeping the environment safe and enjoyable for all.

We are closed for daycare and pick-up/drop-off on the following holidays:
New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Please Note: Boarding dogs are still cared for by our staff during holidays.

• A 3-night minimum reservation is required for major holidays.

We do our best to answer calls during business hours, but as a small facility we may be assisting another client or in a new-client appointment. Please leave a voicemail and we will return your call.

• New client inquiries are handled by office staff Monday–Friday.
• Weekend office staffing is limited, so responses may take longer.

We understand that plans change. To respect our staff’s time and allow other clients the opportunity to book, we require notice for cancellations as follows:

Same-Day Cancellations: Defined as any cancellation made after our closing time the day prior to your scheduled service.

Daycare

• Same-day cancellations or no-shows will be billed $25.
• Late Pick-Ups: $25 for the first 15 minutes after 6:00 pm. After 6:15 pm, your dog will remain overnight and both daycare + boarding rates will apply.

Boarding

• Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice (after 6:00 pm the day before) will be billed for one night ($75).
• Late Pick-Ups: $25 for the first 15 minutes after 6:00 pm. After 6:15 pm, your dog will remain overnight and boarding rates will apply.
• During major holidays, a 3-night minimum stay is required.

Training

• Training Sessions: Require 24-hour notice (before 6:00 pm the day prior) or a $35 fee will be charged.
• Training Consultations: Require 48-hour notice or the $100 deposit will be forfeited.
